Different active ingredients and targets
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, which acts at GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Wegovy contains semaglutide, which acts at the GLP-1 receptor. They are not interchangeable product labels.
Brand and indication depend on country
In the US, Mounjaro is the tirzepatide brand authorised for type 2 diabetes, while Zepbound is the tirzepatide brand authorised for chronic weight management. EU and UK product information should not be silently applied to US readers, or vice versa.
